Mindfulness
In my approach being mindful is just what it sounds like – letting your awareness be fully present with whatever you are doing while you are doing it. Although this sounds like a simple task, it is certainly anything but simple.
We humans get so distracted by the busyness of everyday life that we sometimes lose track of what is important in the moment such as living with presence through intention, paying attention to our surroundings, and living through kindness and curiosity. Mindfulness is a way of life for many and an important key to living life to its fullest!
Mindfulness is the ability to intentionally pay attention in the present moment without judgment. In other words, it is the art of cultivating the habit of being purposefully in control of the present moment with self-awareness and not just fluttering through time with no sense of direction, purpose, or connection of consciousness.
Example: have you ever gotten inside a store and wondered: “did I lock the car”? Being present in the moment when you got out of the car you would have recalled hearing the car beep it was locked.
